are ... to be energy independent, to develop a community between old, young and disabled people, to create jobs in the region, to make the region more attractive to international visitors and the national, native population. To bring this wonderful nature of this region Lääne Haju Vald closer to the people and to preserve it.
The project KSV2020 - as the first sustainably developed municipality in Europe with an energy supply that is 100 percent based on renewable energy.
The planned pilot project will initially complete the part with approx. 60 holiday homes. Each house has about 90 square meters of living space, will have a maximum energy consumption of 35 kWh / m² per year and is equipped with a sophisticated ventilation and heat exchange system.
At least 10 kWp PV panels will be installed on the south-facing rooftops. To guarantee year-round energy supply, a large vertical wind turbine with maximum capacity will also be installed at the highest point of the site.
In order to maintain energy throughout the 3 most difficult winter months, a MEGA 4 Hydrogen system is installed, which produces electrolyzed hydrogen and oxygen from the energy above it. The hydrogen is stored in suitable 7 GTM containers and, if necessary, returned to the energy cycle. Likewise, the use of hydrogen in vehicles etc. is possible. The surplus can be supplied to the market.
This ensures that energy is available over a period of 43 to 86 days, even if there is no sun and no wind to generate electricity.
In the second step, another 60 houses, so-called retirement homes, are planned. In the same order of magnitude as the already mentioned at the beginning Holiday Homes with a floor space of 90 m², 2 bedrooms, fireplace, sauna and a large living area, which to the east and south side with generous window fronts.
Also, an event center is planned to be installed in former hangars. A CoWorking Center for Green SMART Startup with up to 120 seats.
By using the accumulated rainwater from the rooftops more than 75% of water consumption is generated sustainably. For this purpose, appropriate storage and systems are installed for each house and building.
This also includes its own wastewater treatment system, which is planned for up to 500 people, but can be expanded at any time.
Based on solid funding and refinancing from ongoing projects, the parallel renovation of the 18th-century mansion is based on original construction plans. This should be the center of cultural coexistence in the KSV2020 project by 2025 at the latest.
A tree-top walk way and a birdwatching station in the integrated 9-acre forest right on the lake should attract daily tourists from the wider area and the country. This area is planned as a permanent nature conservation and nature experience area.
The benefit of this project is first of all the 100% sustainable energy production and use in low energy homes. Furthermore, a foreseeable sustainable process will be set in motion for all companies, engineers and later startups involved in this project. The added value for the region is a multiple of investment through job creation, infrastructure development, attractiveness through a pilot project and foreseeable additional tax revenues.
In order to put the financing on solid foot, in addition to the private investment group and the promotions, also the participating population should have the opportunity to participate with small amounts in the project, receive a return and thus be motivated to advance the region.
With this project we want to prove that a 100% renewable energy supply is also possible in Estonia. Where previously the energy surplus was fed into the public grid, energy had to be bought especially in sun-free and wind-poor times, it should be possible to use the generated energy to 100%.
In addition, this project provides security for stable energy prices. Because sun and wind are remain free.
We do not expect any funds from the local administrations, we rely on a support in planning and approvals to implement this project quickly and successfully.
A subsidy of up to 70% through EU, state and federal funds is sought.
An energy transition for the benefit of all will only work if everyone is involved in this project and behind it. Maybe it also motivates others to rethink their home, their home or where possible, and to incorporate renewable energy step by step into future renovation plans.
